Add a page, take out the ones you do not need, put everything back in the right order and straighten crooked scans — all in a single visual panel, without rebuilding the document by hand.
▶ 1. The pages panel
Every operation on pages is gathered in a single screen, where the document appears as a grid of draggable thumbnails.
Thumbnails are dragged to reorder; the side panel holds cropping, resizing and rotation.
Install the extension from the download page; it is a Chrome extension, so it works the same on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Open the file with Choose a PDF (or Open PDF).
Go into Organize pages to see the document as a grid of thumbnails.
When you are done, click Apply page changes to bring the new structure back into the editor.
🔒
Everything happens on your device: the document is never uploaded to any server and the editor works even without a connection.
+ 2. Adding pages
You can add a blank page, a ready-made layout, or the pages of another document.
Blank page — inserts a blank sheet, handy for a note, an attachment or the table of contents.
Add Template Page — adds a page already laid out, chosen among the 16 included templates.
Merge multiple PDFs — brings in the pages of other PDFs: add the files, order them and click Import.
After inserting, drag the thumbnail into the right position.
Merging brings in the pages of other documents, in the order you decide.
✕ 3. Deleting and extracting pages
Removing what is unnecessary and isolating what you need are two sides of the same operation.
To remove, select the pages you do not need and delete them from the grid.
To keep only part of the document, select those pages and use Extract selected pages: you get a new document with just them.
Extracting is often better than deleting when you have to send someone a single chapter of a long document.
💡
Deleting useless pages is also the most effective way to make a file lighter: more so than compression, if those pages contain scans or heavy images.
▦ 4. Reordering, rotating, duplicating
The wrong order and upside-down pages are the two most common flaws in documents made of scans.
Drag the thumbnails to put them back in the correct sequence.
Straighten crooked pages with Rotate left or Rotate right.
Use Duplicate page to repeat a layout that already works instead of rebuilding it.
▣ 5. Cropping and resizing
Useful when pages come from different sources and are not all the same size, or when a scan has huge margins.
Crop page — set the margins to remove in millimetres to cut away excess borders.
Resize page — bring the pages to A4, Letter, Legal or a custom size.
Making the format uniform before printing stops some pages coming out shrunk or with clipped edges.
⧈ 6. Splitting the document
When a single PDF is too long or too heavy, it is worth breaking it into separate files.
Splitting produces separate documents every so many pages.
Set Split every N pages with the interval you need.
Click Split PDF to get the separate documents.
To put everything back together later, the reverse route is Merge/Split PDF.
? 7. Frequently asked questions
The questions that come up most often on this topic.
Can I undo if I delete the wrong page?
Yes: while you are working in the editor you can step back with Undo. In any case the original file on your computer is untouched: the changes exist only in the document you download.
Do rotated pages stay rotated in the downloaded file?
Yes, the rotation is saved into the PDF: whoever opens it sees the pages already the right way up.
Can I insert a page from another PDF without merging the whole document?
Yes: import the other file and then delete from the grid the pages you do not need, keeping only the one you want.
If I reorder the pages, does the table of contents still work?
No: internal links point to a fixed page number, so they need checking. That is why it is better to build the table of contents last, as explained in the guide on how to create a table of contents.
Put your document back in order
Install the extension, open the PDF and sort the pages by dragging them — no sign-up and nothing uploaded online.
